POSITION OVERVIEW: RETAIL ASSOCIATE, FIREWEED SHOP & STUDIOS
Overview:
We’re looking for a friendly and detail-oriented individual to join our team this summer!
This is a part-time seasonal role, but we will consider the opportunity to extend for the right candidate.
Day-to-day tasks include opening and closing the shop, engaging with customers in a friendly and upbeat manner, processing sales, and maintaining the shop’s visual merchandising. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, love connecting with visitors and locals alike, and enjoy being part of a creative environment and celebrating the arts and handmade goods.
RESPONSILBITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Greet and engage customers in a professional and friendly manner.
Assist customers in finding and selecting products that meet their needs.
Provide product knowledge and recommendations to customers.
Process transactions accurately and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized sales floor and stock room.
Meet or exceed sales goals consistently.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing excellent service and product knowledge.
Stay up-to-date on product or service offerings, pricing, and promotions.
Address customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team sales goals and participate in sales meetings and training sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior retail experience preferred
Ability to work independently
Strong basic math skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Familiarity and enthusiasm for handmade goods & the arts
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move merchandise around the shop as needed
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Comfortable handling cash and using a POS system
Attention to detail
Maintain a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for all customers

HOURS, PAY & PERKS:
14-16 hours per week; shifts from 11am - 6pm (subject to change), Friday and Saturday.
Fridays and Saturdays are required throughout the summer season.
Compensation beginning at $16/hourly, depending on experience
40% in-store discount on eligible items, exclusions on commission sales merchandise may apply
Desired Start Date: Week of June 1, 2026
