POSITION OVERVIEW: RETAIL ASSOCIATE, FIREWEED SHOP & STUDIOS
Overview:
We’re looking for a friendly and detail-oriented individual to join our team this summer!
This is a part-time seasonal role, but we will consider the opportunity to extend for the right candidate.
Day-to-day tasks include opening and closing the shop, engaging with customers in a friendly and upbeat manner, processing sales, and maintaining the shop’s visual merchandising. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, love connecting with visitors and locals alike, and enjoy being part of a creative environment and celebrating the arts and handmade goods.
RESPONSILBITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Greet and welcome all visitors to the shop
Maintain a friendly, professional customer service attitude
Gain familiarity with the shop’s ethos, products, and makers to make recommendations to customers and drive sales
Process transactions using our point of sale system
Cleaning and restocking before opening and after closing
Maintain the shop’s visual merchandising and restock throughout the day
Assist with receiving and merchandising new inventory
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior retail experience preferred
Ability to work independently
Strong basic math skills
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Familiarity and enthusiasm for handmade goods & the arts
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move merchandise around the shop as needed
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Comfortable handling cash and using a POS system
Friendly, engaging attitude – you will often be the only person working in the shop, and will frequently need to talk with customers throughout the day.
Attention to detail
Maintaining a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for all customers
HOURS, PAY & PERKS:
2-3 days per week, 8-hour shifts. Must be available on Saturdays.
Compensation beginning at $18/hourly, depending on experience, with eligibility for end-of-season bonus.

Desired Start Date: Week of June 1, 2025
Anticipated End Date: October 31, 2025
